So I would like to ask the following: What features do you like to see in SnapIt? (If you like to see something not included in this feature-list: Add a feature request and I will incorporate it as soon as possible. Thanks a lot!) A: The one I use most often: Auto-detects duplicate tracks (if you put two songs with the same title in the same folder, it will rename both to "song name", and make a sub-directory for them) Can quickly edit tags (not that I can think of anything specific that I want to change, just a preference) It's very fast, and it's only $15. A: What's not there? Support for.xml files. What else? I always wanted a music directory editor (not a tag editor) that would have easy importing, as well as a way to move, rename, duplicate and otherwise rearrange files, in which the "same" song, when I imported, would have the same name and attributes. This would be handy, for example, if I want to make a playlist of all the songs from my CD collection that I enjoy listening to, but don't have any associated CDs. A: "I can quickly edit tags (not that I can think of anything specific that I

----------- SnapIt! is an application to organize your music and to synchronize your music libraries. Using the music-id3 tags, you can have a strong hierarchical way of organizing your music. The tags can be edited using regular text-editors or your favourite graphical-music-editor. Just name your files with a three-letter code and let SnapIt! do the rest for you. After that, I discovered dMusic Explorer. It can not only display your music but can also play it (Windows only). The music id3-tags can also be edited or edited manually. This was an awesome tool but unfortunately it is not compatible with Windows 2000/XP. I had to use SnapIt instead. Now, since I am using dMusicExplorer alot I decided to make it compatible with Windows 2000/XP. Description: ----------- SnapIt! is an application to organize your music and to synchronize your music libraries. Just name your files with a three-letter code and let SnapIt! do the rest for you. Windows 2000/XP users can now use SnapIt too. Just install the snapit package. This version has also a CDDB update function. SnapIt can also deal with duplicate tags and artist/album names. So if you renamed an album in your player, snapit will not replace it. It will only show the artist and album-name with the old artist/album-name. The new artist/album-name will be under the old one. After a short one week development-time SnapIt 1.1 has now the following new features: - Track names can be edited now. - You can sync your music to another computer. - You can select a filetype to use as default for new files. - You can add any amount of tags to a file. - You can use amare player now. - You can use any text-editor to edit the tags. - You can set the artist to any album or song. - You can set the album to any track. - The id3-tags can be edited manually. - You can define the folder structure of your

This is a script which allows you to list your mp3-Files on a server, in a way that you can immediately access them with standard mp3-Players. Without this script your mp3-files will most likely stay in your computers harddisk. Also, it's likely that you're missing out on some details like album- and artist-names, cover-images and so on. The two main problems are: 1. You have to register your tracks with the [CDDB] database, which I strongly recommend to do. You can register for free and it's only a small effort. 2. You have to get the track-IDs for your mp3-files and upload them to your CD-Writer. The easiest way would be to use DaemonTools Lite. To get your mp3-files into this server structure, you can use a tool like SharpDSP MediaManager or maybe CDex. I use a Mac, but I'm sure, that you could adapt this script for your needs. I hope you enjoy this script. Installation For other versions of SharpDSP, use the latest setup-file found in the zip-file. For more information about the installation of this script, read the comments in the script. Demo The current version of this script displays the currently loaded mp3-Files and their status. The following details should be displayed: What CD-Artist What Album-Artists What Artists What Tracks What Groups If you already have the id3-tags of the mp3-files in a file, the following details will be displayed: Music Category Artist Name Album Name Music Genre Track Name You can use the Edit Track button to edit the id3-tags of the selected track. This is the dialog that you should see if you have the id3-tags of the mp3-files in a file. You can use the Edit Track button to edit the id3-tags of the selected track. You can use the Edit Track button to edit the id3-tags of the selected track. Managing your music The scripts lets you manage your music as easy as you can imagine. Just select the files, which you want to manage and - if you like that the script makes your selections, - if you don't, - or if you want to replace the script by another. If you select all files, the script will ask you, if you want to - display or - hide the id3-tags Once you've made a decision, you can - change the selected files to match your choices,
